What are the Health Foundations?

Our health is very dependent on our lifestyle and behaviours. The Health Foundations of Nutrition, Movement, Sleep, and Mindset influence our metabolic health.

Making changes to the Health Foundations can make a significant and often rapid difference to current and future health.


Nutrition refers to what, when, and how much we eat and drink.


Movement refers to the type of movement we undertake and how often.


Sleep refers to the amount and quality of the sleep we have.


Mindset refers to our state of mind and level of stress.

The Health Foundations can support you in making lifestyle and behavioural changes to improve health. Everyone is different. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. It is important to consider your current health and physiology.

For each Health Foundation there are some factors that will worsen metabolic health and there are some factors that will improve it.

Helpful lifestyle changes should lead to improvement in health, at a pace that is right for you. They should make your life better now, and for your future.

There is no good or bad, there is just what is right for you.
